Moms Against White Baseball Pants, Dawn to the Rescue

Why? Why do we have white baseball pants?!?! Kids slide in the orange dirt of a ball field. They are also great at sliding or diving in the grass. Now these white ball pants have orange dirt ground into the white fabric AND green grass stain streaks as well. Ugh! Don’t even think about it if they cut themselves and bleed on those white pants. Or spill something while eating between games (ahem, Chocolate Ice Cream, ugh!).

Dawn Dish Soap, I love you!

A few little squirts of Dawn Dish Soap directly on the stain. No need to rub it in, no need to cover the full stain. A little Dawn goes a long way. I like to put the Dawn on and let the soap sit for at least a few minutes. And yes, I’ve forgotten and let the soap sit for a day (or more). The results are not 100% perfect, but for very little effort, you get pretty darn good results. The pants on the left below had the chocolate ice cream stain, which is now GONE! I did cover the chocolate stain completely with Dawn Dish Soap. The grass and dirt stains on the below right pants came out pretty well. As you can see, I only put a little Dawn Dish Soap over the stain. I didn’t cover it completely or rub it in. Minimal effort, decent results. You choose how much effort you want to put in to get those white baseball pants white again. My one caution is don’t cover too many stains with too much Dawn Dish Soap – hello BUBBLES, bubbles everywhere! I do add regular laundry detergent when I was these pants. I was these pants with the rest of my whites, on cold.

I use Dawn Dish Soap on any stain and have really successful results. Bloody t-shirts (if you’re a recurring reader, you might know, my kids get bloody noses a lot). Grease stains.
